Let’s face it, long road trips with kids aren’t always fun. But they are doable, and at times even enjoyable.
Bring on the snacks. As adults know all too well, eating gives you something to do. And helps to avoid everyone being hangry. Be careful, though — getting your kids sugared up will backfire. Pack some healthy and yummy treats. We love Black Forest Organic Fruity Bites and Belvita Breakfast Biscuit.
Beat the boredom. Be sure to load some kids favorite music onto an iPod, and don’t forget headphones unless you want to be listening to christmas carols on repeat for 5 hours. We love these iCleaver Kids Headphones with removeable Reindeer Horns. So cute!
Switching off from screens on a road trip is also a great way to stimulate your child’s mind, and get them to appreciate what is around them. We love the National Geographic Ultimate U.S. Kids Road Trip Atlas – it is filled with maps, games as well as activities featuring all states around America. Don’t forget to pack a box of crayons!
And for the older kids – keep them busy with Christmas themed tear-Out Coloring Cards, once they are colored in the cards rip out and they can give them to friends and family. The Fujifilm Instant Camera, is also a great way to keep kids busy and will leave them with instant photos.
