The Low Down
Want the champagne but not the hangover? The six pack but not the sit ups? A hatchback but not the bulk? The day has finally come to have our cake and eat it too: Meet the 2017 Toyota Yaris! This Euro-inspired mini-hatchback is not only light as air but also the least expensive model in toyota’s lineup! Ooh la la 😍
Each Yaris comes equipped with a 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine for 106 horsepower. Three trim levels:
The L for five-speed manual transmission, 15-inch steel wheels, automatic headlights and high-beam control with a choice of two or four door.
The LE to throw in power side mirrors, remote locking and unlocking, cruise control, enhanced interior trim and steering-wheel-mounted audio controls also available two or four door.
And the SE for the premium Yaris. Offered only in the four door option, you get 16-inch wheels, LED running lights, foglights, a leather-trimmed steering wheel and upgraded cloth upholstery.
While the 1.5-liter 106 hp might not look like much, the Yaris went 0-60 in 9.5 seconds on manual! Feels a little slower than her competitors on the road, but we’re the love the simple, user friendly gears make up for any lost speed.
Although there’s no rear view camera, Toyota’s new and improved Safety Sense suite includes automatic high-beam control, lane departure warning, and forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking! A huge step up from last year.
Each Yaris with bluetooth, a 6.1-inch touchscreen, and a six-speaker sound system with a CD player, HD radio and a USB port 🎶
Starting at $15,250
Why this Car?
Between the excellent steering, adept body and spacious back seats we can totally see a future with the Yaris. Our one major complaint? Not enough cargo room. Although we’ve never been known to travel light 👸🏼 Bottom line: Good price. Good Car. More Money. More Pizza. 🍕
